PLanning, researching, and more planning

It all begins with an idea and lots and lots of research. I pour over instagrams, pinterest, flower books, seed catalogues for countless hours. I read about each variety - the growing conditions, the bloom time, the color variations, the soil needs….it really can be overwhelming if you let it. So if you are wanting to start a garden but feel stressed by the amount of information available - I want to share with you what I have learned.

Stop that madness.

Order some seeds. Just pick some, any of them and plant them.

While I will tell you that in order to scale a commercial farm and be successful, planning is the biggest key to success. I will also tell you to just get started! I am not a professional farmer. I am actually a chemical engineer with a master’s in business and I have never farmed in my life. Yep, my family has farmed, but not me. So I am new to this, but I have found so much joy in gardening that I want to encourage others to join me.

Over the next several months, I will share with you how I started my small flower farm. My favorites parts of farming and least favorite parts. What I have learned and what I will be still be learning. I hope you will join me.

xoxo
